Personalized Learning with our Schools Attuned® Program

At Wasatch Academy, all full-time teachers and dormitory parents are certified and trained in the Schools Attuned methodologies.

Developed by the All Kinds of Minds Institute, Schools Attuned employs a neurodevelopmental approach to assess learning strengths and help your student learn in the best way possible for her. This strength-based approach helps her transform her learning and gives her the self-assessing tools she needs as she heads off to college.

Additionally, our Learning Strategies program, available to all Wasatch Academy students, provides a personalized setting where teachers work individually with your student to reinforce strong points, address perceived weaknesses, and fill educational gaps.

The result: empowered students who understand their individual learning styles well enough to take learning to the next level both at Wasatch Academy and at the next level.

In addition to fulfilling a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum, your student can also elect to challenge himself through Advanced Placement courses in English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, European History, Spanish, Mandarin, United States History, Calculus A/B, Calculus B/C, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Psychology, Studio Art, and Computer Science.

Meeting the needs of individual learners.

You won’t find a “sage on the stage” in any Wasatch Academy classroom—a teacher giving a rote lecture while students hurriedly scribble notes. Instead, our creative teachers facilitate learning, individually and in groups, by taking the pulse of what students already know and adjusting their teaching accordingly. What may come easy to one student may be a challenge for another, and our teachers tune in to those nuances.

Every night, after dinner and before lights out, your Wasatch Academy student devotes two hours to completing homework, fulfilling reading assignments, and studying for exams. Our built-in study halls, closely monitored by helpful teachers, not only ensure that your student’s work gets done on time, but helps him internalize time management skills critical to his college success.
