The 6’3″ Toronto native has committed to Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, after considering nearly a half-dozen Div. 1 scholarship offers. He will join a school known for producing exceptional guards, including current Portland Trailblazer star Damian Lilliard.
John started nearly every game in his four-year career for Wasatch Academy, averaging 20 points per game over that span. He was twice named 2A MVP in Utah and has collected a bevy of all-tournament honors.
This year, John led the Tigers as they tackled an aggressive national schedule, averaging 19.2 points per game. He earned all-tournament honors in such high-profile events as the Montverde Academy Invitational, Bill Crothers Invitational, and Great Western Shootout.
Along with Weber State, John had scholarship offers from Utah Valley University, St. Bonaventure, Niagara and Southern Utah University. He had also generated interest from programs such as Utah State, Colorado, and Boise State.
