Wasatch Academy is proud to be one of the top private boarding schools in the West. We’re also proud to offer leadership and service opportunities for our students. We believe that by teaching our students to find joy in service, they will carry that through the rest of their lives and continue doing the little things that change the world.
Students at Wasatch Academy are given opportunities to take part in service at school. In addition, many of our students take part in service abroad that immerses them in life-changing situations, but nothing beats the change we can make in our own community. Our tradition of giving back is what sets us apart from other private boarding schools.
It is eye opening for our students to meet those in the community that they can help. The beautiful Mount Pleasant that hosts our school is a prime location for service opportunities. Our students continue to make us proud by taking part in service on their personal time.
Food Bank Central Utah Food Sharing
Students from private boarding schools can volunteer in a number of ways. With the common goal of eliminating hunger across the state of Utah, the local food bank is often full of Wasatch students. Younger students learn to care for their communities by decorating the boxes that hold food. Older students are able to take charge in the warehouse by sorting food.
Local Elementary Schools
One of the biggest benefits of attending private boarding schools is the high level of academics our students receive. Our students learn the responsibility of sharing their knowledge by helping elementary students grow through reading and tutoring opportunities.
Elderly Care Facilities
Students learn to respect the generations who came before them by spending time volunteering in the local elderly care facility. The conversations they share with the people who live there help them understand the importance of engaging in their community however they can.
