For several years now the Marriott School of Business’ Global Management Center has hosted a High School Business Language Competition in Spanish. This year they added French, Mandarin, and Arabic.
Over a three-week period, students were tasked with researching the company Cotopaxi, their product Del Dia Backpack, and the market trends to create a business plan marketing the product to young adults in Japan. The students then had to study the target consumer in order for the plan to be considered a viable business plan.
This was a collaborative effort between the World Language Department and Mr. Moffett’s business classes. The students represented Wasatch Academy very well with their presentations and our French group of Leo, Fousse, and Alex ended up in 3rd place in their division. It was a superb learning experience for all. Inés, Lovett, and Emmanuel Jauregui represented the Spanish-speaking team.
