Wasatch Academy is one of the most unique private boarding schools with a global campus — and we don’t just mean having a variety of international students on our campus. What makes Wasatch Academy unique is that students from outside the United States can also have a dual diploma from both their own high school and Wasatch Academy. Wasatch Academy is one of the only private boarding schools that reaches out to almost every country to provide students with their unique style of learning. Our academy recently engaged with China, Japan, India, Peru and Ecuador in the dual diploma program.
Rise in Popularity of Dual Diploma Program
Our unique and beneficial dual diploma program has become increasingly popular in China, due to the heightened increase in popularity of American private boarding schools among Chinese high school students. Yet the dual diploma program offered by Wasatch Academy boasts more benefits that are more than just purely aesthetic; having a diploma from an American high school not only looks excellent on transcripts, resumes and college applications, it also exposes the students to the American learning system in preparation for college.
The Dual Diploma Program Merges American and International Learning
The diploma involves a three year program that combines the education of grades 10-12 in the United States. However, the program isn’t an exact copy of the United States education system — it also allows a country’s education system to be combined with the benefits of an American boarding high school curricula and syllabus.
Wasatch Academy visits the different countries that participate in the program between four and six times a year. During these trips we look exclusively at the development of the program while simultaneously observing both the teachers and the staff. We do this with one goal in mind: to make sure that all the students in our dual diploma program are getting the academic support and direction that they need.
