So you’ve made the decision to apply to Wasatch Academy. What’s next?
At Wasatch Academy, we require all incoming students — both boarding and day students — to complete and submit an online application for consideration.
Never applied to college prep boarding schools before? Don’t worry —here are step-by-step instructions.
Create an Account Online
Creating your online account is as easy as coming up with a unique username and password. After creating a username and password, you will be able to create, edit and review your application before you send it in. You can save your application process at any time and resume at a later date.
Fill Out the Questionnaires
The Wasatch Academy application is similar to many other college prep boarding schools in that Wasatch asks for personal questionnaires to be completed by each applicant. Unlike other college prep boarding schools, Wasatch puts more emphasis on these personal answers and the interview process than we do in standardized test scores. We believe there is more essence to our applicants than just a test score.
The student questionnaire consist of a series of short-answer questions and an essay, and is designed to give us a better idea of each student’s personality and aspirations.
In addition to the student questionnaire, the Wasatch Academy application also includes a parent questionnaire. This is designed to gain perspective from a parent’s point of view.
Include Recommendations and Transcripts
Wasatch Academy requires a copy of your official transcript and three letters of recommendations: one from an English teacher, a math teacher and a personal recommendation.
Personal recommendations can be from just about anyone: coaches, counselors, former teachers, etc. Just make sure your personal recommendation says a lot about who you are as a student; at Wasatch Academy, we go to great lengths to learn about our students — we want to know who you are!
Just Be Yourself
The Wasatch Academy application might seem intimidating at first, but it doesn’t have to be. While the graduates of Wasatch Academy go on to do great things, students don’t always start knowing what those great things will be. Don’t worry about looking like the world’s perfect high school applicant — just be yourself, and we’ll take care of the rest.
