Outdoor adventure, this is how we play
We discover. We learn. We explore.
Explore, discover, and have some serious fun
Between the open land and the breathtaking scenery, Utah is the ideal place for outdoor exploration, both for the seasoned adventurer and the enthusiastic newbie. Wasatch Academy offers a variety of outdoor programs for students.
Skiing and Snowboarding
Students have the opportunity to ski at world-class ski resorts throughout Utah and the West, including Park City, Jackson Hole, and Aspen. Wasatch Academy also owns a private ski hill, located less than 20 minutes from campus, which students use daily during the winter months.
The ski and snowboarding program offers several levels, from Competition Team to Recreational Enthusiast.
Equipped with a rock wall and bouldering room on campus, and with a world-class rock-climbing destination located 20 minutes from campus, novice and experienced climbers alike are sure to reach new heights. Professional instructors support all students in understanding safety, movement technique, and various other disciplines within rock climbing.
Biking and Hiking
For those excited to experience Utah’s scenery, biking and hiking are ideal activities. Often our students go to the red-rock arches in Moab or hike the plateaus and tunnels of Zion National Park. There are several biking and hiking trails for students to explore the beautiful landscapes locally while developing technical riding and hiking skills.
Equestrian: Rodeo and English Riding
The equestrian program provides experienced riders and newcomers the perfect degree of training and guidance, tailored to their interests and needs. The facilities include an indoor arena, an outdoor arena, a three-mile cross country course, 20 stall stables, paddocks, and over 100 acres of open pasture.
Wasatch Academy has space and equipment to host its own shows, competitions, and clinics by visiting experts. We also have a number of horses for beginning and intermediate riders. Competitive riders may bring their own horses and board them in our stables. In addition to great facilities, Wasatch Academy has exceptional coaches. Riders will develop their English or Western skills under the instruction of current and former English and rodeo competitive champions. There are fees for participating at the competitive level, as well as for boarding horses.
