HUNTER POWELL

Hunter Powell is the head coach of the Wasatch Academy Regional Basketball Team.

Hunter Powell is a dedicated basketball coach and player who’s passionate about developing athletes on and off the court. A former varsity captain at Pleasant Grove High School and current Exercise Science major at Utah Valley University, Hunter has built experience from every angle of the game—as a coach, player, referee, and collegiate practice squad member. He’s coached competitive youth teams, led skill-development sessions, and worked alongside Division I athletes while helping shape strong team cultures grounded in effort and accountability.

Hunter’s coaching philosophy centers on relationships, fundamentals, and hard work—principles he learned through eight years of mentorship under Wasatch Academy Head Coach Paul Peterson. Outside of basketball, he enjoys time in the mountains, hunting, and exploring the outdoors with family and friends.
