Jennifer McIff, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), is the Mental Health Counselor at Wasatch Academy. In her role, she supports students’ mental health and social and emotional well-being, provides support when students are navigating challenges, and develops and coordinates mental health and wellness programming for the school community.
She collaborates with students, families, and school staff and helps coordinate outside mental health services when needed. Jennifer earned her Master of Social Work from Boise State University after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Before pursuing a career in mental health, Jennifer owned and managed a bed and breakfast, event center, and restaurant, an experience that taught her to embrace variety, challenges, and the unexpected while strengthening her skills in leadership, communication, and working with people from all walks of life.
Jennifer’s educational background is complemented by extensive training in various therapeutic modalities, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Master Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She enjoys working with adolescents as they navigate the academic, social, and personal challenges of high school. She values continued learning and professional growth.
A Mt. Pleasant native, Jennifer is excited to be back at Wasatch Academy and to contribute to a community she knows and loves. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, loves spoiling her grandchild, and has recently discovered a passion for cake decorating.
