TYLER JAKERMAN

Tyler has a passion for the outdoors. He grew up rafting with his family, quickly learning the ways of the river and, at a young age, taking charge of his own boat.

He knew as soon as he graduated that he wanted to become a guide. Tyler worked as a snowmobile guide in the winters and a river guide in the summers. He first met Wasatch as a guide for our Junior River Trip and worked with us for many years before joining our team as our Outdoor Intern.

Tyler has worked in the outdoor industry for eight years. He is SCUBA certified and loves canyoneering. Wherever he goes, he finds an outdoor adventure to pursue. Tyler is also a Wilderness First Responder with extensive backcountry experience in safety protocols and incident management, with a strong focus on keeping people safe.

Tyler’s goal with this internship is to grow as an educator while providing students with a deeper appreciation for the outdoors and the beauty of nature.
