ZACH NELSON

Zach Nelson is the head coach of the Wasatch Academy Regional Basketball Team.

Zach Nelson is a Developmental Basketball Coaching Intern and, along with that, the head coach of the Wasatch Academy Regional Basketball Team.

Zach has a resounding passion for the game of basketball and wishes to share that passion with those that surround him. Zach prepped at Cottonwood High School, where he was a varsity captain. Though his playing career ended, Zach continued to pursue opportunities to be around basketball. He worked for the BYU Women’s Basketball program as a scout player for two years. He then coached at Mountain View High School for 2 years, serving as a varsity assistant and sophomore head coach. He was the JV head coach at Orem High School before he arrived at Wasatch Academy.

Zach credits his mentors for teaching him excellent basketball philosophies and skills that he hopes to pass along, and he looks forward to learning from the first-rate staff at Wasatch Academy. When Zach isn’t in the gym you can find him outdoors, listening to music, or watching his favorite sports teams.
